ACHA Ice HockeyThe Case for Division 1 Hockey at Penn State
Penn State has developed a reputation for athletic prowess in many sports, ranging from football to basketball to swimming; the school's hockey team is no exception. But there is one slight difference among the sports: the hockey team does not operate at the Division 1 level. Click here to read more at AmericanCollegeHockey.com.

NCAA Ice HockeyTeam USA Rolls Into Semis; Schroeder Eclipses Roenick
Rebounding from the heartbreaking shootout loss to Canada, the United States made it to the semifinals anyway with a resounding 6-2 win over Finland on Saturday at the World Junior Championships. The U.S. (4-0-1-0) will face Sweden in the semifinals Sunday at 8 p.m. (CT). Minnesota sophomore Jordan Schroeder, playing in his third WJC, had three assists to surpass Jeremy Roenick as the all-time career ...

Team USA Loses Shootout Heartbreaker to Canada
It was another epic game between the U.S. and Canada. And it was another loss for Team USA. The Americans suffered their first loss of the tournament, 5-4 in a shootout, and missed a chance for a bye to the semifinals. Instead, Team USA will face Finland -- the third seed in Group B -- in the quarterfinals Saturday at 8 p.m. (CT). "Tonight was a great hockey game for fans of these two countries," ...

Maine Continues Resurgence, Takes Florida Classic
You don't want to say Maine's transformation from a two-year swoon and bad start to 2009-10 is complete, but with an eight-game unbeaten streak and Florida Classic Championship -- winning 3-2 in the final against No. 3 Colorado College -- you have to be feeling good about the program again. “It was great for us after the way we lost the lead last night to come back the way we did tonight meant ...

CC Burns Cornell at Classic Day 1
Speed versus size. It is a classic matchup in hockey, and on this night anyway speed won, as No. 3 Colorado College held off No. 4 Cornell, 4-2, at the Florida College Classic in Estero. Prior to the this tournament, Colorado College had played only one game this year on an NHL size rink. Tigers coach Scott Owens was concerned that playing a big team like Cornell on a smaller ice surface may somewhat ...

CollegeHockey.info Publishes ACHA's First Real-Time Scoreboard
By popular demand, we have created a real-time scoreboard that will allow ACHA (and NCAA D3) teams to update scores from their arenas in real-time. This is the ACHA's only real-time online scoreboard! A number of teams are already on-board, but we still need officials affiliated with other schools to volunteer to update their teams' scores. Please click here for more information.

Help Wanted!

We're looking for a few people to blog 2 or 3 times a month about topics that appeal to college hockey fans across the board (rather than writing specifically about your team... unless the news about your team is so important that everyone would be interested).

You must commit to writing a minimum of one article per month during the hockey season. Please understand, this position is unpaid; however (attention journalism students!) this is a great opportunity to have your work published on a national Web site that receives thousands of hits every week.

To apply, please e-mail us us your resume and writing samples.
